The strike has entered it's 3rd day with both unions having rejected the offer by Transnet, there is unfortunately no further planned talks at this stage. Unions are planning to
march in several city centres today trying to gather support from non-union members and other unions.
COSATU - Congress of South African Trade Unions have announced their support for SATAWU and UTATU and has indicated that they will support efforts as much as possible.
Whilst this is not a surprise, SATAWU and COSATU have always been aligned with their policies and at the same time we believe COSATU has been the driving force
behind SATAWU to continue the strike in a political display of the unions power over government.
COSATU is affiliated to 33 unions and represents over 2 millions members (across various industries).
