CKYH to suspend FE-North Europe NE4 string
The CKYH carriers will temporarily suspend their Asia-North Europe NE 4 loop, currently run with seven ships of 8,200-9,000 teu. The NE4 used to be maintained with nine ships until the removal of two ships during the past weeks, with two of the nine weekly sailings
skipped. The suspension also affects four co-loaders outside the CKYH partnership : UASC, NYK, OOCL and CSCL.
Further to the withdrawal of the NE
4, the CKYH carriers will add Shanghai
to their NE 2 loop in order to retain three weekly Shanghai-North
Europe connections. The revised NE 2 rotation, effective from 16 December, will cover Shanghai,
Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Singapore,
Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Jeddah, Singapore, Shekou, Hong Kong, Shanghai. A
tenth week will be added to the
NE 2 rotation, with a tenth ship added.
The last NE 4 sailing will depart from Qingdao on 8 December with the YM ULTIMATE. The NE 4 vessels are expected to be redeployed to the FE-Mediterranean MD 2 service where they will replace smaller 5,600-6,500 teu vessels.
