Greek National Truckers Strike

Donโ€t let it affect your supply chain!

Dear partners,

The Greek National Truckers Union is expected to announce strike in the following weeks   Strikes are to begin either on the 23rd of July or on the 23rd of August (most probable date is 23rd of August).  Once the strike is announced, we expect it to last at least 10-12 days at least.

During the strike, Union blockades will exist in national roads, port entrances, and airports, while all truckers will be participating in the strike (including container trucks, logistics delivery & pick up trucks, international transport trucks etc.), protesting in this way for the โ€openingโ€ of their profession by the Greek State, as per EU regulations.

In order to have your customerโ€s supply chain as unaffected as possible, with the less possible disturbance, please ask your customers to coordinate with their Greek importers/exporters, so that they schedule the shipment for the previous or the following weeks after the strike.  In any case, please contact us well in advance, so that we assist you in the coordination of these shipments.

For further contingency schedules even during the strikes, you can contact our dedicated team that will check and advise the best solution for your shipments, as we have done during 2008-09 Port Union Stikes with zero containers trapped, similar trucker strikes in the past, and also during 2010 Icelandic Volcano eruption, so that you can always provide the best for you and your customers, ahead of others!
